Day 1
The journey starts with a 30 minutes flight from Quito to Manta. Guests will be welcomed and transferred to Machalilla National Park in a trip of approximately 3 hours. On the way we will visit Montecristi where we will find workshops where handcrafts made in straw shawls and the famous Panama hat, made in Ecuador. In December 6, 2012 UNESCO declared Ecuadorian art of weaving a genuine Panama hat as “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity “ In the afternoon, we will visit the small fishing village of Salango, located south of Puerto López; this town has an interesting archaeological museum with pieces collected at different sites. In addition, the museum exhibits in chronological order the archeological ceramic, vestiges of cultures that inhabited the coast of Ecuador more 5,000 years ago. Return to the Hotel.
Day 2
Located in the heart of the park, the village of Agua Blanca offers you the opportunity to observe the archeological remains of the Manteño culture. From the museum you can enjoy hiking through its dry and tropical forests or walk through its dry and tropical forests or spend some time at the sulfur lagoon, medicinal properties are attributed to the water, enjoy and learn from the local way of life and natural history of the area. For the adventurers this is the opportunity to explore the cloud forest or a bike ride. Return to the hotel.
Day 3
Visit to the Isla de la Plata, part of the Machalilla National Park, located in front of the coast of Ecuador; this is a rugged island and cliffs, is a magnificent sanctuary of wildlife, especially coastal birds. This adventure begins in the bay of Puerto López, the navigation takes about an hour and a half. You can go hiking along the pre-determined trails and observe blue-footed boobies, masked boobies, frigates that have one of their most important places of laying and breeding here in Ecuador, the other is the Galapagos Islands; admire the immense variety of marine flora and fauna in Drake Bay, practice snorkeling, swim or rest on the beach. Return to the hotel.
Day 4
Visit the tropical moist forest of the Chongon-Colonche mountain range, you will be able to observe 20 species of birds, admire the flora and fauna of the area and learn why this ecosystem is different from the others visited. Transfer to Manta airport to take your return flight.
