Cotopaxi, the world’s highest active volcano is located in Latacunga canton of Cotopaxi Province, about 50 km south of Quito.

This Ecuadorian national park encompasses an area of 36.000 ha and extends into the Cotopaxi, Pichincha and Napo provinces

Leave Quito by motorcar on the Pan-American Highway to the south, to visit the Cotopaxi National Park; the park offers tourists a remarkable experience, visitors can engage in a number of activities, including hiking, mountaineering and mountain biking. This is a lovely area for walking and admiring the delicate flora, and fauna including wild horses and native bird species.

Lunch is at a restaurant of the area before returning to Quito in the afternoon.
